I don’t know what you are going through, but I can only reach out and give you a hug through my words. You probably are feeling a bit helpless right now. “Hopeless” would probably be the best word to describe it.

The reason I know this is because I have felt the same way. I recently told someone that if I had a button to press to make me die, I would press it. Thank you, Jesus, that I don’t have to come to that conclusion!

Today, I read a message on my phone that made all the difference in the world: “I had rather be in trouble with Jesus, than at peace with a hell bent world !” So very true.

Unfortunately, a lot of people have the misconception that if you are a Christian, you will have a problem-free life. They often think that if you are going through the right steps, doing the right thing, there’s no way sin can touch you. In a way, that is very true. If you are not sinning, you are not going to reap the consequences.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. ~ Galatians 6:7

However, some really strong Christians still mess up, are in crazy scenarios right now, and might be asking themselves this question: am I not saved? Am I doomed to hell? What happens when we mess up? Is there no more hope for us?

The thing is, when you believed in Jesus, declared Him as your Savior, you were saved.

Mark 16:16 - Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

So, if this is you, you were saved. Now, however, you may find yourself in a hopeless situation. Maybe you willingly sinned and you are afraid you have turned your back on God and you are lost forever. Maybe you’ve been tormented day and night by the devil and you just feel like you can’t keep going.

Grace. Grace is a wonderful thing. The thing about grace is that it is offered freely in Jesus Christ. He knew we would make mistakes. He knew there would be times we would turn our back on Him. God offered His only Son because He knew that He was the only way to get out of our messes. Being a Christian didn’t mean the problems/lust of the flesh would stop, it meant that now we have a solution and motivation to get back on our feet when we mess up.

Yes, there is a hell and, yes, we don’t want any part of that. But hell is for unbelievers – not you and me, if we are born again believers. We still live in fleshly bodies. Paul wrote:

Romans 7:19-20 - For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.

Don’t let any person, demon, doctrine bring you down thinking there is no hope for you. That is the beauty of Christianity despite all other religions. We can be imperfect and get forgiven. We can even turn away from our Lord a bit and His Holy Spirit whispers to us to turn back even though we never fell out of the clutches of our loving Father.

Ephesians 4:30 - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

I’ve been where you’ve been, but trust me, God has much better plans in store for you. You’ve been sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit. The devil (or should I say demonic forces) will make you question that because there goes your helmet of salvation. When the helmet of salvation is off, you can assume “mental illness” comes knocking. This can lead to all sorts of unwanted, intrusive thoughts—and, yes, suicide.

But I want you to think for a moment. What if the devil (demonic forces) are attacking me because I have some worth in the Kingdom? You see, you are not of this world. And unfortunately, when we sin, we begin to look a lot like this world, and this can take away the power of our ministry because we don’t stand out like we could stand out for Jesus if we made the right, moral choices.

Don’t let the devil win. It’s time to take back territory for your life. Choose to let Jesus save you and don’t fall back again into the law:

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. ~ Galatians 5:1

Your story can save another believer, or perhaps literally help save an unbeliever who doesn’t know the redeeming power of Jesus’ blood. Don’t give up. Ever. In Jesus name.

If you need some prayer, feel free to comment below. You are not judged here (only grace). Jesus loves you very much, and so do I.

Blessings,
